Increase Your Driver Rating by by Ensuring Rider Safety, Comfort and Confidentiality

Safety, Comfort and Confidentiality are three vital ingredients of a smooth ride which help boost your driver rating. Safe driving provides your riders with the confidence they are in good care and will arrive at their destination all in one piece. Comfort largely comes from ensuring riders have enough room, that the temperature inside your vehicle is pleasing and expressing a pleasant warm attitude. An finally, confidentiality. Many of us drive mi-senior level business executives and/or married couples. I casually tell my riders "what is said in the car stays in the car" and this usually puts their minds at ease ... especially if they are talking on their phones about private business or family matters. In turn, this combination of Safety, Comfort and Confidentially will tend to keep your driver rating high and give you priority when receiving new rider requests. Minimizing Time Between Rides Boosts Your Driver Revenue

Revenue, revenue and revenue is the highest priority for full-time or part-time Uber drivers. When you are "on the road" taking advantage of Uber Pool and surge pricing is critical. If you are like me you likely have a 'preferred' area in which to pick-up new Riders (e.g. an area you know well and feel comfortable with the type of people submitting Rider Requests. As Uber drivers we also need to be flexible ... which sometimes means going to an unfamiliar area or turning around and driving to an area you just came from. The key point is to "reduce the amount of time between rides." Reduce unproductive time by planning advance by carrying some convenient healthy snacks, identifying time-efficient restroom breaks and the like. Remember, aside from "Rider Referrals and Invitations" almost all driver revenue comes down to the time you have a rider(s) in your vehicle ... and the vehicle is on the road. Seek the Surge and Reap the Gains

Planning your driving time and strategy around peak "surge" pricing times and locations is a key component of increasing your Uber income. In general, surge rates can be captured in either of two ways. First and most common is driving during weekday morning and./or evening rush hour periods.Depending upon your location and Rider demand a driver can usually cash in on 1.2x and above surge pricing using this approach. Second, target your driving around high demand locations and events. These include driving near the downtown areas of medium-large cities, near large company headquarters and finally major events such as tradeshows and sporting events. College and professional football games are ripe for profits. The Two hours before a game Riders from the surrounding area need rides to the game and rides home or to there hotels immediately after the games. Clusters of major hotels are also common surge zones. Please send us your thoughts on other strategies for cashing in on surge pricing here at Uber Driver Best Practices.
